We are providing an update on our Facilities Study Initiative as of May 2025.
Schedule for St. Vincent de Paul Renovations
The planning for Saint Vincent de Paul renovation is well underway. The user needs
committee are planning to submit a final report on user needs by the middle of June.
W. M. Fares have been selected as the lead design consultant on the project. Their
experience on phase 1 of this project and on previous archdiocesan projects will be an asset as we work through this project.
A tentative schedule on carrying out renovations at St Vincent de Paul site is as follows:
Stage 1: Pre-Design
This phase includes putting a design team in place and ensuring that user requirements are well understood by this design team. It also includes the determination of a more informed estimate of construction costs. (Tentative dates May 2025-August 2025)
Stage 2: Design
Carrying out the design of the project and preparation of Construction Documents
(Tentative dates October 2025-July 2026)
Stage 3: Construction
This includes bidding processes, Contract Administration and Construction Management and In-service of a renovated Christ the King Church. (Tentative dates
August 2026-August 2027)
Archbishop Approval
The information required to seek final Archdiocesan approval should be available in October when we have updated estimates. At that time, we will have more information on the valuation of the Saint Thomas More property.
Ministry Outreach Centre
The Ministry Centre Outreach Committee are continuing with their work. They have documented all information from the Parishioner meetings and are presently ascertaining more defined needs of the community and the possibilities associated with meeting those needs. They are currently in the process of engaging an intern from the Department of Health and Human Performance for the September-December term to help with the required community surveys.
