Catechetics & Sacramental Prep Program for Grades Primary to 9
We are pleased to offer in-person classes on Sunday mornings in both English and French.
The English Program is offered in the St Vincent de Paul Stewardship Centre as follows:
- Grades Primary to Grade 5: Sundays from 10am – 11am
- Grade 6 to Grade 9: Sundays from 6:00pm – 7:30pm

Le programme de catéchèse en français est offert dans la salle Saint Thomas More (au sous-sol) comme suit :
- Années maternelle à 3e : les dimanches de 10h00 à 10h45
- Années 4e à 9e : les dimanches de 9h50 à 10h50

Sacraments are administered based on the readiness of your child.
Preparedness for the sacraments is not strictly based on a child’s school grade or age! Your child’s knowledge and love of Jesus and readiness to receive a sacrament grows throughout their years of religious education, not just in the years when sacraments are traditionally administered. Please contact us if you have a special circumstance in your family regarding their formation or preparation for the sacraments.
First Communion & First Reconciliation Preparation generally takes place during the Catechetics program for children who are going into Grade 2. However, accommodations are being made for older children who have not yet received Sacraments due to COVID or other circumstances.
Confirmation generally occurs at the end of the Catechetics program for Grade 9.

Please note: To participate in Religious Education at CTK, you must be a registered parishioner with our Parish so that we can walk with you on your journey of faith! It also helps us to maintain accurate sacramental records for each child. If you are not already a registered parishioner, we will help you become one when you fill out your registration form.
