Our Core Values

At Christ the King Parish, our mission is rooted in our love for Christ and our desire to serve His Church faithfully. Our Core Values reflect the spirit with which we carry out our work and ministry. They guide how we relate to one another, how we serve the people of God, and how we live out our call as disciples of Jesus. These values are not just ideals; they are lived realities that shape our community each day.

Works Well on a Team

We believe that ministry is never a solo effort. Jesus sent His disciples out two by two, reminding us that we are meant to serve together. In our parish, we value collaboration, respect, and unity of purpose. Whether preparing for Mass, coordinating outreach, or supporting one another behind the scenes, we seek to work in harmony, knowing that the Body of Christ is strongest when each part works together.

Care for the Individual

Every person is a unique reflection of God’s image. We are committed to seeing and valuing each individual, not just as part of a crowd, but as someone known and loved by God. Whether we are welcoming a newcomer, visiting someone in hospital, or simply listening with compassion, we strive to care deeply for the people we encounter, responding with sincerity and respect.

Authentic Witness to Jesus

Our faith is not something we simply talk about, it is something we live. We strive to be authentic witnesses to Christ by living with integrity, humility, and joy. Whether we are at home, at work, or within the parish, we seek to reflect the light of Jesus in our words, choices, and interactions, always mindful that we may be the only Gospel someone ever encounters.

Teachable

We recognize that following Christ is a lifelong journey. We value a spirit of openness: a willingness to learn, grow, and be transformed by God’s grace. Whether we are deepening our understanding of Scripture, receiving guidance from others, or stepping out of our comfort zones, we strive to remain humble and open to what the Lord is teaching us.

Heart of Service

Jesus came not to be served, but to serve. We aim to follow His example with generous and joyful hearts. Whether the task is big or small, seen or unseen, we approach every act of service as an opportunity to love. This value calls us to go beyond what is convenient and to place the needs of others ahead of our own, always seeking to build up the Church and bring hope to those around us.
