Catholic Women’s League (CWL)

The Catholic Women’s League (CWL) provides women with faith based opportunities for spiritual growth, leadership development and many avenues for service, advocacy and social justice. We offer hospitality, friendship, sisterhood, support and affirmation that empowers women to reach their full potential. As Catholic women, we are called to help in our parish and community.

SVDP Council: We provide food at Hope Cottage and give financial support to Phoenix House, collect toiletries for the Women’s Prison, support religious education and other youth programs, offer bursaries and host funeral receptions. For more information, please contact Carolyn Innes at carolyninnes47@gmail.com.

STM Council: We are involved in all aspects of Parish Ministry. Our Council focuses on issues concerning the sanctity of life from conception to natural death, social justice and human dignity through outreach to those who are challenged in our community and society. We support Among Friends, Hope Cottage, Adsum House and the Admiral Nursing Home to name a few of our social outreach and service initiatives. We host funeral receptions to assist families experiencing the loss of a loved one. We offer bursaries as well as support parish religious education and youth programs. We promote the teachings of the Catholic Church through the sharing of our rich traditions. For more information, please contact RoseAnn Hetherington at ra.hetherington@ns.sympatico.ca
