Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mothers’ Day                        A Message and Prayer from your Pastors

On behalf of Christ the King Parish, Dartmouth, we wish all our mothers, grandmothers and all women a HAPPY MOTHERS’ DAY! We appreciate all the love and cares you give to us, and the sacrifices you make everyday for the good of your families, communities and the church.

Although we cannot be with you physically because of the Covid-19 lockdown, we would like you to know that we are with you in spirit and you are in our heart. We love you and we offer our prayers for you on this special day.

“Dear God, we thank you for the gift of our mothers, grandmothers and for all women to whom you have entrusted the care of every precious human life from its very beginning in the womb. Bless and watch over them with love. Bless their husbands, their children and all those who are dear to them. Strengthen their faith in your fatherly love and care for them. Give them courage in times of loneliness, fear or pain. Give them understanding in times of uncertainty and doubt, and give them hope in times of trouble. Grant expectant mothers joy in the birth of their babies.

Assist all “spiritual mothers”, those who, though they may have no children of their own, nevertheless selflessly care for the children of others – of every age and state in life. Grant that they may know the joy of fulfilling this motherly calling of women, whether they are serving in office or front-liners, those in teaching, nursing, religious life, or in other work which recognizes and fosters the true dignity of every human being created in your image and likeness. May they ever follow the example of Mary, mother of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and imitate her fidelity, her humility, and her self-giving love.

Fill all mothers, grandmothers and all women with your Holy Spirit, with your peace and love. Comfort those who are in sorrow or in any kind of pain, heal the sick and grant eternal rest to all our mothers who have died.

May all mothers and all women receive your Grace abundantly in this earthly life, and may they look forward to eternal joy in your presence in the life to come. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.”

As a sign of our love, we dedicate a song by Fr. Toochukwu to you, “God bless all mothers of the world”. Enjoy your day!

Your Pastors,
Fr. Anthony Caruana
